Welcome to Kel Domènech’s apartment, located in the historic center of Besalú. This vacation rental offers a unique experience in a privileged location rich in history. The building dates back to the oldest part of the 12th century and shares two walls with the wine cellar of Casa Cornellà (Can Llaudes). Inside, you will find Romanesque and Gothic arches, one of which is visible in the main bedroom. The ground floor features a remarkable 14th-century gray stone vault, 7 meters wide, once used as the front of the municipal oven in the 16th and 17th centuries. This inspired the name of the street, c/ Del Forn. The oven was buried and lost for many years until it was rediscovered and dismantled around 1925. Before belonging to the current family, this charming vacation apartment was owned by the Baró de Albi during parts of the 18th and 19th centuries. The house has been rebuilt several times, from the 1428 earthquake to the 19th century, blending centuries and architectural styles. The final eclectic renovation was completed in 2004, giving this luxury apartment in Besalú its unique character, filled with history and creativity at every turn. The apartment is decorated with unique artworks created by the owner and artist Kel Domènech, which you may purchase during your stay. We hope this variety of features and amenities will make your visit unforgettable.
